What is facial balancing?
Facial balancing means looking at how your chin, lips, nose, jawline and cheeks fit together, then using hyaluronic acid filler in one or more of those areas so your face looks more in proportion. At Clinique Le RoseWood on Nuns' Island, Montreal, it starts with a consultation, and the price depends on the areas and amount of product. Our chin and lips bundle is $987 + tax.
How does facial balancing work?
Instead of treating one feature on its own, we look at your profile and your face as a whole. A small change in one area can change how another one reads. For example, a stronger chin can make the nose and lips look more in balance.
Most of the work is done with hyaluronic acid filler, the same family of product used for lip filler. Sometimes a plan also includes neuromodulators (Botox®, Dysport®), for example on the jaw muscle or for a lip flip. We only suggest what makes sense for your face.
We always lean natural, but we tailor it to the look you want. If you want something subtle, we go subtle. If you want more, we'll talk it through honestly.
Which areas can be part of facial balancing?
Chin - to add projection or shape, often the base of a profile plan
Lips - shape, hydration or volume (lip filler)
Nose - non-surgical rhinoplasty, to smooth a bump or soften the profile. It doesn't make the nose smaller.
Jawline - definition along the jaw
Cheeks - support and contour in the midface
Temples and under-eyes - sometimes, when hollowing throws off the balance
Not every area is right for everyone. We'll tell you straight what we'd do, and what we wouldn't.
How much does facial balancing cost in Montreal?
There isn't one price for facial balancing, because every plan is different. It depends on which areas we treat and how much product you need. These are the prices on our price list as of October 2026:
Profile balancing: chin and lips - $987 + tax (our most popular bundle)
Chin enhancement - from $600 + tax
Cheek enhancement - from $600 + tax
Jawline definition - from $1,100 + tax
Nasal profile balancing (non-surgical rhinoplasty) - $700 + tax
Under-eye / tear trough - $600 + tax
Temple hollowness - $700 + tax
Lips - 0.5 mL $400 + tax, 1 mL $550 + tax
3 regions of dermal filler - $1,500 + tax · 4 regions - $2,000 + tax
Neuromodulators (Botox®, Dysport®), if they're part of your plan - from $10 per unit + tax
The $987 + tax chin and lips bundle is one popular option, not the price of every facial balancing plan. Your plan and total are confirmed at your consultation, before anything is done. There's a $60 + tax deposit to book, and it goes toward your treatment.
Who is facial balancing for?
It can suit people who feel one feature looks out of proportion, like a chin that sits back, a bump on the nose in profile, or lips that look small next to the rest of the face. It can also suit people who just want their features to look more in harmony without surgery.
It's not for everyone. Filler doesn't do what surgery does, and some goals are better handled another way. Treatment may need to wait or be avoided if you're pregnant or breastfeeding, have an infection or active cold sore near the area, or have certain medical conditions. We go over this at your consultation.
What happens at a facial balancing appointment?
- 1
Consultation. We go over your health history, your medications, any past filler, and what you'd like to change. In Québec, new patients are assessed by a physician at their first visit.
- 2
Assessment. We look at your face from the front and in profile, at rest and when you talk and smile, to see how the chin, lips, nose, jawline and cheeks work together.
- 3
Plan and price. We tell you which areas, roughly how much product and the total, before anything is done. Sometimes that's one area, sometimes a few.
- 4
Treatment. The skin is cleaned and hyaluronic acid filler is placed with a fine needle or a cannula. Some plans are done in one visit, others in steps so swelling can settle between them.
- 5
After. You get written aftercare and a follow-up if needed, so we can look at the result once the swelling is down.
What are the risks, and what's the aftercare?
Facial balancing is a medical procedure, and like any injection it has risks. Common side effects are swelling, bruising, tenderness, redness, and temporary lumps or unevenness.
Rare but serious complications can happen, including filler blocking a blood vessel, infection or an allergic reaction. Some areas, like the nose, carry more risk than others. A careful assessment and an injector trained in facial anatomy help lower the risk, but can't remove it. Hyaluronic acid filler can usually be dissolved with an enzyme called hyaluronidase, which is also part of how some complications are managed.
The nose and under-eyes need extra care. Non-surgical rhinoplasty and under-eye (tear trough) filler are higher-risk areas. Because of the blood vessels there, a blocked vessel in these areas can be more serious, and in rare cases it can affect vision. They should only be treated by an injector trained in facial anatomy. Swelling under the eyes can also last longer than in other areas. Not everyone is a good candidate for nose or under-eye filler, so we assess it carefully at your consultation, and we'll tell you honestly if we don't think it's right for you.
Don't press on, massage or rub the treated areas for 24 hours unless we tell you to.
Use a cold compress wrapped in a clean cloth, gently, for swelling.
Skip alcohol and intense exercise for 24 to 48 hours.
Swelling and bruising are common and usually settle within a few days.
Come to your follow-up if one is recommended.
Contact the clinic right away, and get emergency care if needed, if you notice any of these after an injection:
pain that's unusual or getting worse instead of better
skin that turns white, grey, blue or blotchy
any change in your vision
signs of a stroke, like sudden trouble speaking or weakness. Call 911.
Who does the treatment?
Injectable treatments are done by Nisrine El Hila, Head Nurse, under the medical direction of a physician. Our team works in French and English.
How the medical side works
Nisrine is a registered nurse. Before your first injectable treatment, a physician assesses you and sets your individual treatment plan. If a future treatment needs a doctor, we bring one in.
Questions people ask about facial balancing
How much does facial balancing cost at Le RoseWood?
Short answer: It depends on the areas and how much product you need. As of October 2026, lips start at $400 + tax and most other single areas at $600 + tax, the chin and lips bundle is $987 + tax, and 3 or 4 regions are $1,500 or $2,000 + tax. Your total is confirmed at your consultation.
Is every facial balancing treatment $987?
Short answer: No. $987 + tax is the price of our chin and lips bundle, which is one popular option. Other plans can cost less or more, depending on the areas and amount of product.
Is it done in one appointment?
Short answer: Sometimes. Some plans are done in one visit. Others are done in steps, so swelling can settle and we can look at the result before adding more. We'll tell you which makes sense for you.
Will it look natural?
Short answer: We always lean natural, but we tailor it to the look you want. We talk through your goals first, and we'll be honest if we think something would look overdone on your face.
Is there downtime?
Short answer: Swelling and bruising are common for a few days, and some areas swell more than others. Most people go back to their day, but plan around any big events. You get written aftercare.
How long does it last?
Short answer: It varies with the area, the product and your body. Lips usually don't last as long as areas that move less, like the chin. We'll talk about what to expect for your plan at your consultation.
Can facial balancing filler be dissolved?
Short answer: In many cases, yes. Hyaluronic acid filler can usually be dissolved with an enzyme called hyaluronidase. Whether that's appropriate is decided after an assessment.
What are the side effects and risks?
Short answer: Common ones are swelling, bruising, tenderness, redness and temporary lumps. Rare but serious complications include filler blocking a blood vessel, infection and allergic reaction. We go over the risks with you before treatment.
Are nose and under-eye filler riskier?
Short answer: Yes. They're higher-risk areas: a blocked blood vessel there can be more serious, and swelling under the eyes can last longer. They should only be done by a trained injector, and not everyone is a candidate. We assess this at your consultation.
